The IWG has a dynamic membership of local and expatriate women, and reaches out to the community through charitable projects focused on the needs of children in rural areas.

Zhonghao-CQIWG Christmas Charity Ball 2009 CQIWG is proud to announce their 5th Christmas Charity Ball 2009. The event will be held on Dec 5, 2009 at Hotel Intercontinental at 6pm.
Zhonghao Law firm is the Title sponsor and Duravit and West China Dental Clinic are the program sponsors.
The annual Ball is Chongqing expatriate community's main social event and fundraiser for CQIWG's charitable projects, benefitting thousands of children spread across 14 schools in rural Chongqing.
The theme, ' My Dream, My China', reflects the dreams of these children. This Christmas, with everyone's support, CQIWG hopes to continue to help these children realize their dreams.
Support from Korea!
CQIWG has just received financial support from a corporate donor from Korea. The donation was facilitated by our long term partner Save the Children, China ( one of the largest independent NGOs in the world,based in UK). As per the wishes of the donor, this aid, amounting almost RMB 22000, will go towards milk for 150 children and subsidies for 48 children in our project schools. .

In April 2009 the CQIWG visited the Chongqing Shi Er Tong Fu Li Yuan orphanage
We had a tour of the orphanage and spoke with the management to find out what the CQIWG can to do to help the children. Photos of the visit: please click here .
A visit in February 2009 to Qijiang Middle School by the members of the CQIWG
We drop off red envelopes to 200 students, our subsidies program. We gave the students money to help with school items, such as stationeries, books, etc. Photos of the visit: please click here .
A visit to Fei Shui Primary School in Sichuan by the members of the CQIWG on 27 of November 2008
s part of our Earthquake Rehabilitation Project, the CQIWG financed a one month theatre workshop aimed at socio-psychological rehabilitation for some of the school children impacted by the earthquake. Around 100 students of Grade 5 benefitted from this workshop. As a final farewell to the workshop, the children performed small skits and songs for CQIWG members. CQIWG Christmas Charity Ball 2008, sponsored by Zhonghao Law Firm
The CQIWG's Fourth Annual Christmas Ball was held on 6th December 2008 at the Howard Johnson Hotel in Chongqing.

We were honoured by the Mayor and this wife who graces the occasion with their support.

The CQIWG Charity Ball raised a staggering 335,000.00 RMB for its various community programs. We are especially grateful to Zhonghao Law Firm and all the other sponsors for their support to our various causes.

The CQIWG would like to sincerely thank all the individuals who supported us, by contributed their time and effort to make the ball a huge success. Thank you, again for all your hard work.

An article by ‘Chongqing Current’ quoting Ana Rosa Lara “The first Saturday night of December for the last four years has been a special night in Chongqing. We all put our best look on in order to raise money for a good cause. Organized by the Chongqing International Women's Group, the annual Charity Ball finances community programs for children in Chongqing's rural area.”

We would like to thank Mercedes-Benz for giving us the opportunity to raise more money for our various causes.
